Sensus - Pulse Output Module for Sensus Wireless Meters - POM-433

The Sensus POM-433 (Pulse output Module) provides a solution to add pulse output functionality to Sensus radio-enabled meters in AMR or AMI mode. It allows third party data loggers to be connected to the wireless meters for customer analysis and allows integration to Building Management systems via the pulse output.

It uses the periodically transmitted consumption data from the meter to generate a corresponding number of pulses, which can be transmitted to any pulse input compatible devices.

The device provides a 4-wire pulse interface, which is configurable depending on requirements.

The Pulse Output Module can be configured for three different pulse output modes, as per the table below:

Pulse Interface Overview

The device features a configurable 4-wire pulse interface, designed to meet various integration requirements.

• White – Primary pulse output*
  
• Yellow – Secondary pulse output or flow direction*
  
• Green/Brown – Ground or cable cut detection (normally closed contact)
  

*Functionality of the white and yellow wires depends on the selected pulse configuration.

Meter and device configuration is performed using the SIRT (Sensus Interface Radio Tool) together with an Android device running the Diavaso Configuration app. This tool enables straightforward setup and programming of Sensus meters and repeaters directly in the field.

The Sensus POM-433 device operates alongside existing AMR (walk-by/drive-by) and AMI (SmartPoint-based) systems without disrupting current data collection methods. It can also be retrofitted to selected existing meters, eliminating the need to specify a pulse output at the time of meter purchase.

Once installed, the POM-433 receives meter data via SensusRF and outputs pulses to third-party systems such as data loggers or Building Management Systems (BMS), enabling seamless integration with external monitoring or analytics platforms.
